Graduate
The department was founded in 2000 and has 8 academic staff. The number of students in our department is 61. Our department has a Master's program. Our department provides education to our students at a level that will compete with other universities in the national and international arena by using all the opportunities of modern education. Our department graduates are employed in both the public and private sectors.
Qualification Awarded
The objectives are to train teachers who are sophisticated and who have knowledge at an international level, who are qualified enough to be a good teacher, and who can write scientific publications which are acceptable both in and outside the country in the field of Science Education Department.

Admission Requirements
1- The application form
2- The Graduation Certificate (a photocopy of the graduation certificate).
3- The document of the exam result: a photocopy of ALES, GRE or YDS scores
4- A photocopy of Turkish National ID Card. (the Turkish translation of the passport of foreign students)
5- Photograph (2 copies) (Photographs must be taken directly from the front side)
6- A copy of the transcript.
7- The Document of the Status of Military Service: Turkish male candidates must deliver the document of their status of military service.
8- The equivalency document: the graduates of foreign universities must get the equivalency document from the Council of Higher Education and deliver a notarized copy of the equivalency document
9- The documents above must be translated into Turkish and must be notarized for foreign students. The documents below are required from foreign students
Doctorate;
The admission to he doctorate degree is determined with respect to the academic achievement score. The academic achievement score is determined by ALES (National Academic and Graduate Entry Examine), GPA, interview scores and English exam.The overall score is calculated by adding, 50% of the ALES score, 20% of GPA, 20% of the interview score and 10 % of English exam (University Language Examination conducted by OSYM).
Master (with thesis):
The admission to the Master (with thesis) is determined with respect to the academic achievement score. The academic achievement score is determined by ALES (National Academic and Graduate Entry Examine), GPA, interview scores and English exam. The overall score is calculated by adding, 55% of the ALES score, 30% of GPA, 10% of the interview score and 5 % of English exam (University Language Examination conducted by OSYM).
Higher Grade Transition
The students graduating from master may apply to doctorate programs
The students graduating from PhD may apply to post doctoral programs in the field of expertise
Graduation Requirements
The requirements for getting Master’s degree are to complete 120 ECTS credit hours including at least seven courses the credit of which is above 21 National Credits, a seminar and thesis study.
The requirements for getting PhD are to complete 240 ECTS credit hours including at least seven courses the credit of which is above 21 National Credits, a seminar, competency exam, thesis proposal and thesis study for the students who have second cycle degree.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates of programmes can continue an academic career in the universities. Also, second and third cycle programmes provides its graduates who are teachers to be able to move on to administrative cadres and advance in their profession in Ministry of National Education.
Assessment and Grading
For master’s programme; at least one midterm and final exams for credit courses and seminar courses of Master’s program are conducted. The contribution of midterm exams to the success is 40% and final exams, 60%. Registered students of the program must get at least 65 or higher points and attend all courses.
For PhD; at least one midterm and final exams for credit courses and seminar courses of Master’s program are conducted. The contribution of midterm exams to the success is 40% and final exams, 60%. Registered students of the program must get at least 75 or higher points and attend to all courses.
