Department of biology, Faculty of Sciences, along with the establishment in 1975 of the University within the zoology and Botany departments opened, then on April 4, 1978, it was converted into two separate episodes of desks. 1976-1977 academic year, 20 students. The organization does not have a sufficient number of faculty member in both the under section of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the University of Dicle University courses and faculty members from the University of Atatürk. together with higher education numbered 2547 law issued in 1981, both partitions are combined under the name of the Department of biology. This section was established in the new Institute of science and the residents transferred to graduate training that Fırat University way completed. in 1982 Faculty of science and Faculty of Aegean University Department after rotation, the assistants have completed Postgraduate training, so that Section 9 Professors, 7 Associate Professors, 4 Dr.Instructor.Member and 4 Research Assistants and 2 Expert with education and training was carried out. In time, this is a part of the Faculty Members in universities and other academic activities, part of the retired to continue. Right now, in our 9 Professors, 7 Associate Professors, 4 Dr. Instructor Member, and 4 Research Assistants. In terms of the number of students in education I, 198, II. education, graduate student, 22, 43 and Assess learning.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates can be employed as teachers, researchers or experts in institutions that carry out basic and/or applied research in such fields as medicine, chemistry, veterinary sciences, agriculture, biotechnology, biology and education. They are also employed in drug manufacturing industry both as researchers and sales persons. They can work in hospitals or health clinics as biologists or technicians as well as in government institutions as consultants.
